Health Precautions To Consider…

Foray 48B has been reported to cause mild and severe reactions including respiratory (coughing/wheezing/asthmatic reactions), eye (pain, redness, ulcers), gastrointestinal (vomiting/diarrhea) and skin reactions (sore throat/swelling lips/hives/rash) in humans. After aerial sprays, residents have also reported bleeding noses.

-Consider leaving the area during spraying if possible.

-Stay indoors with doors and windows closed during aerial spray application and for at least one hour afterwards. Consider delaying commuting. Sprays typically end at 7:30am.

-Prepare your homes and businesses by closing all, doors, windows, air vents, and shutting off heating/cooling systems and covering them.

-Cover gardens, ponds, and pools.

-Bring pets indoors if possible. Consider how to keep their exposure to residue to a minimum (washing paws before coming indoors, cleaning an outdoor area for dogs to use).

-Clean handrails and door handles, wash vehicles, toys, patio furniture, yard tools etc to remove residue.

-Wash your hands after contact with reside. Foray 48B Aerial Label precautions state that the bacterial pesticide BTK spray “causes moderate eye irritation, avoid contact with eyes and clothing. Wash hands and vegetables thoroughly with soap and water after handling, before eating, drinking, chewing gum or using the toilet.

-Monitor humans and pets for related adverse reactions and report adverse reactions to the Ministry of Forests Spongy Moth Task Force Hotline, 1-866-917-5999 and the No Spray BC Hotline, 1-800-573-0213.

-Employers consider adjusting work schedules so that employees are not commuting or working outdoors in the active spray or settling time, and notify employees to shut off heating a cooling systems, cover air intakes and use protective equipment when cleaning residues.
